Within the heart of the forsaken forests, a sinister power slumbers. You must muster your forces, and delve into the darkness.
The perfect opportunity to begin your adventures with Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, or to begin your next grand army. This event is a slow-grow, where you'll start with a small force and slowly expand it over the course of 6 weeks.
To join this event, you’ll need 500 points of Age of Sigmar models. For most factions, this is easily accomplished by picking up the relevant Vanguard or Start Collecting! box set. Need help knowing what to pick up? Just get in touch.
We’d also recommend you have access to the Age of Sigmar core rulebook, or the latest General’s Handbook, as well as your relevant factions' Battletome. We have a copy of the core book available in store for those who haven’t yet picked one up!
Each week, you’ll use the Discord or Facebook group to organise games with the other players. You can play as many games as you’d like each week, as there are no prizes for winning or losing - all prizes are based on learning, helping players learn, and getting hobby done!
After each game, you need to submit your result on the events website. This form includes the actual results of your game, but you’ll also rate your opponent for how much they helped you learn (or learned), and how much you enjoyed them as an opponent. It’s important for both players to submit this form, as these scores are used for prizes at the end of the event.
For the first four weeks, you’ll use the Battleplans from the Core Rulebook’s Matched Play section (Page 341). You can also find these battleplans on the event website.
For the last two weeks, we invite players to also experiment with the Battleplans from the 2023 Season 2 General’s Handbook.
To facilitate learning the game, players are Each Phase (every two weeks), you can add units to your list to bring your list up to the points limit. So that lists are consistent and easy to learn, you are not allowed to replace existing units in your list (including wargear changes)- that is, at least, until Phase 3, where you’ll be given a single unit swap to make.
As per the core rules, your list requires at least 1 Commander, and at least 1 Battleline unit.
