Duel of the Fates - our first ever Grand Tournament

This weekend, I hosted the Shatterpoint Duel of the Fates tournament as part of the Winter AMG Grand Tournament here in Melbourne. Let me tell you all about it!

What is Duel of the Fates?

As a quick primer for the uninitiated: the creators of Star Wars Shatterpoint (Atomic Mass Games) have a global system for officially sponsored tournaments, called Grand Tournaments. Australia’s had a few, but Duel of the Fates is the first Melbourne-based one. The Shatterpoint event was part of a larger event, called the AMG Winter Grand Tournament, which hosted Star Wars Legion (Twilight of the Republic ) and Marvel Crisis Protocol (Days of Future Past ).

The Winter GT was setup by Nick Gentile, who also hosted and TO’d Days of Future Past. The whole event wouldn’t have happened without his initiative and organization, and the Melbourne wargaming scene is very lucky to have folks like him!

Preparation for the event
